I have books in a personal library that express views and opinions I firmly stand against. I have them to grant me better knowledge and understanding of what is going on around me (or what did happen once upon a time). I had Mein Kampf (now lent out and gone for good even before I could read it thoroughly) - not because I aspire to follow Hitler (what an obscenity that monster was) but for further understanding and insight. How does that saying going? Those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it (or something like that).
I would say that the same thinking applies to current times. Don't follow someone that you shouldn't . . . and know why you shouldn't.
Know who you are or are not voting for and what you support - know why. Be able to defend your position with knowledge and thought as best as you can.
And don't reject hearing and reading what those you oppose have to say - you can learn from them what not to do and why.
