I have yet to set up a book signing with the local bookstore. I'm 1:1, kinda shy sometimes and when it comes to this sort of thing I have no actual experience, as well as confessedly not good with rejection. I internalize.
I've had a few family surprises. I'd given my oldest brother one of the stories to read pre-publishing—I'm one of six—to see if he liked it. He wrote me back, stating he'd been hungry to read this sort of book forever and how soon could I get the book to him.
Well, he now has one, has completely "read it a few times", and wonders when my next one will be written...lol...
An estranged nephew recently reconnected after a couple of no talk, no see years. Amends were made, and I gifted him a book. next day he's read it more than once, wants to make a regular habit of reading it, wants more...lol...you get the idea...
I had already started my second book of stories, some I feel are better than the first. It's just pretty expensive. So weighing it up.
Thanks for the encouragement, glad you liked it. I guess a visit to the bookstore would be a good start.
