They agreed to those rules when they enrolled so shouldn't be surprised when they are ultimately enforced.
As for free speech, they weren't arrested for demonstrating or speaking out, but for pitching tents and camping out where they are specifically not allowed to do so.
Aside of the one denied medication, I don't feel sorry for those who were asked to remove their tents and sleeping gear, told to remove their tents and sleeping gear, and then forced to remove it all.
All they had to do was gather, march, chant, etc. all day and all night if they wanted to, but NOT pitch tents and camp out there, which is explicitly against university rules.
That is NOT denial of free speech.
