Every now and then I listen to get an idea of the hip-hop way these people fill their programs, laughing at their own infantility and stupidity and then laughing along with the worm-shaped appendages is the common thread in their "shows". It comes from the wrenching mental poverty of people who would have to pay money instead of substantial rewards to have this completely unnecessary nonsense thrown into the airwaves. Compulsory voluntary work in healthcare also has a healing and curative effect for these people.
On yet another English radio board I regularly read that the great helmsman, who calls himself Pirate Radio Legend, thinks that the presentation style of Caroline < Bonedry> is not zany enough
But now back to the opening "nostalgia for".
At the end of 2023 I commissioned myself to produce a sound document with the content Caroline commercials and more 1964-2024. Every commercial heard on Caroline between 64 and 24, well all but one ofcourse...or two...or three. Anyway....you understand the nuance of the description.
It does mean that I have to sift through all the Caroline hours that I have in my archive, all medium wave quality, to be able to make an overview per year. That means a lot of editing and improving the quality of poor quality recordings. I have been in a relationship with Caroline since June 1964, so 60 years. By the way, the only extramarital relationship allowed by my wife I am
married with for 50 years.
So I'm nostalgic for... I remember from days gone by the unique sound of Caroline between February 1974 and March 1980, Caroline....Europe's first and ONLY album station. Now in 2024 Caroline Europe's First Album station, a rightful title. Fortunately....fortunately no 'zany' presentation style, but solid and cool...laid back. Worthy of the prestigious AM frequency 648, where in the past world events were broadcast in the same dignified manner by the BBC World Service. Presenting 'Zany' should be left to idiots.
I remember a site where a lot of work was done on overviews of the music played in those periods 74/80 on Caroline. Then we called it Album Rock. Now you can describe it as Soft Rock....rock for the 70 plus boomers / dinosaurs of today, which includes me. I do miss this soft rock nowadays on Caroline the Album station a bit. Where I used to be a world listener via shortwave, I now use the internet for that. There are many radio stations that bring something unique, far away from mainstream music and ego-tripping jerks who shout into microphones.

My listening tip for like-minded people is Soft Rock Radio from the US. See here https://www.softrockradio.net/ or via this link https://www.radio-nederland.nl/us/soft-rock-radio?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpOvt5sWEhAMVBZODBx01fAmdEAAYASAAEgJGMfD_BwE
Indeed bonedry in the presentation, but I like to hear that. And the music? Yes, that is actually the music of Caroline 74-80.
Oh yes... here is the link to that beautiful site about Caroline between 74 and 80, full of facts and photos.
