I renovated a Ferguson "piano key" one a while ago starting with removing all the hard grease.

A visit to a local car boot fair, prompted this - I found a very old R-R: a Philips AG8109 dates from about 1958.

It appears untouched - I found a broken drive belt which I've ordered a replacement. No doubt it will need new Capacitors & more. It has instead of piano keys, a rotary knob to select it's functions.
3 3/4 IPS only & up to 5" reels.
Anyone on here, had a go at restoring these or similar?
I uses 3 valves & a magic eye - no transistors or PCBs - all components mounted on tag strips.
My first use of one similar to these, was recording an Andy Archer show from Caroline south in 1968.
