He founded the New Negro movement in Harlem with politics of "Africa first". Hubert Harrison in my opinion was really the Duse Mohamed of Harlem.
Well, LOL, Goshh,..Marcus Garvey is now getting exposed everytime, I mean,...he was NOT the one who really started the back to Africa Movement. Marcus Garvey arrived to the U.S "16 years" after Hubert Harrison and was deported in 1927. When Garvey came to America in 1916 Hubert Harrison was already too far in his Pan Africanism. I appreciate Garvey's work but Duce Mohamed and Hubert Harrison were definitely the founding fathers of that idea.
