Lost at Sea

I believe my Great,grandfather Alexander Wallace Alexander was lost a sea between. Born in Peterhead Nov 2 1839.At sea 1861 census as a seaman on the "Aberdonian".In 1871 census his wife Mary Anne lived in North Shields with son Wallace age 10 months.In 1881 census Mary Anne Alexander was a Pauper living in the workhouse in South Shields with two Sons Wallace age 11 and H James aged 8.
Trying to find where he was lost and what ship he was on.He obtained his mates ticket in Aberdeen Oct 27 1864 Certificate No 32355.
