Re: NHS and Hip Opps

This evening my wife had a bad nose bleed, so I dialled 111 as I didn't consider it was serious enough for 999. After pressing numerous buttons and speaking to a lady who gave general advice to continue doing what we were doing and to wait for a nurse to speak to me. While waiting and getting recorded messages about how busy they were, my wife's nose started really pouring with blood and couldn't be alleviated by anything we could do, so I hung up on 111 and rang 999. The ambulance operator said I had done the right thing and there was no need for me to apologise for calling out paramedics. The ambulance only took about 15 minutes to get here, but by then the bleeding had reduced to a trickle. The paramedics repeated that no apology was necessary when they saw the bowl full of blood soaked paper towels and tissues and when the checked her vital signs, said her blood pressure was a bit high and could well have been the cause of her bleed.
Like others here I can find no fault with our NHS.
