I read with interest the pension website.I did not know that a provision of a pension to widows ,and, I presume, widowers became law so many years ago. The seven year English Law, my grandmother would certainly qualify, wether Annie ever benefited through that law remains a question to be asked ,but, where would one enquire?
The' not knowing' is a universal concern. I go along with the ' might appear' philosophical answer , having now entered my 91st year, they, whoever they are ,will have to ' get their skates on' if that fact is to be unearthed.

Three very good lines to explore.The record of Detained Alien Passengers is indeed very interesting. My James Noble has the middle name Stephenson, without that it is a perhaps. Although every thing else supports that possibility .
