Streets of Hebburn ~ Furnace Row…
Posted by BJC on February 6, 2018, 7:59 am
FURNACE ROW: Hebburn Colliery. Built before 1871. See High Lane Row:
Judging by the similar amount of house numbers, in both streets, it seems that Furnace Row was sometimes known as Low Lane Row.
Named after: Presumably where the colliery furnaces were located.
