1. Built c.1900. Accessed via Argyle Street. Houses demolished c.1972, though road is still there with same name.
2. Built 1995. Accessed via Argyle Street. Replaced old Thubron Woodyard.
78 residential homes - 23 flats (Nos. 1-79) - 41 properties built in 1995.
In 1850, this was arable land, known as ‘The Long Field’, occupied by John Redhead, and leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison.
Named after: Makendon is part of the Cheviot Hills in Northumberland on the borders of Scotland.
