Ralph Turner Simm, was born Swalwell, Gateshead, Durham in 1880, and died 20 July 1916 at Eccleshall Bierlow, due to war wounds (France).
He married in 1902, to Mary Hannah Glendinning, and they had the following 3 children:
1. Leonora Simm, 1903, Sherburn, Durham, England. Married 1921, Chester-le-Street, Durham, to Thomas Jefferson, and moved to Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand, the same year.
Child: Kenneth Jefferson, b. 1927, Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand.
2. William Simm, 1909, Chester-Le-Street, Durham.
3. Violet Simm, 1914, Chester-le-Street.
In 1923, Mary Simm, with children, William Simm and Violet Simm, sailed on the Corinthic, from Southampton, England, to New Zealand, joining her daughter Leonora, and son-in-law Thomas Jefferson.
In 1924 - the year after arriving in New Zealand - Mary Simm died aged 42, and was buried at Kimihia Cemetery, Huntly.
Clive, it is very likely that you will know of any descendants are over there in New Zealand.
