Usually, folk would contact the churches near to where they were born - or, if it no longer exists, the mother church - and ask if they have a register of their baptism; but you might be lucky and not need to do that…
A while back, regular, Audrey Coltman, told the board that she has all of the Hebburn baptismal records in alphabetical order, which she helped transcribe - so, maybe, if she sees your message (and if you let her know what decade you were born) she might be able to help you find yours.
If she doesn’t see this message, then, the new library, 'The Word', at South Shields, has hard back books containing baptisms, that the public can search for free (much easier, quicker and straight forward than microfilm); they used to be on a shelf at the old library, so will likely be on a shelf at the new one - if not, the library has baptismal records on Microfilm (also free to search), up to October 1950.
