EHIC - E111 - Renewal
Posted by Liz Dance on May 29, 2018, 1:10 pm
Hello - not sure if this is helpful but my above mentioned card is due to expire at the end of this month, about a week ago I received an email advising me that the card was due to expire and gave me details of how to renew, as I was on holiday I decided to wait until I returned. Using the details provided I have just tried to renew my card, I had a few problems on line so called the number given - I went through all the details with the chap, he took my NI No, address etc then tried to charge me £27 for the renewal. I had researched the renewal on line so I knew that this was a free service but no this chap insisted that it would be £27 for me and £27 for my husband, I protested and said it was a free service, in the end the chap told me I could renew for free at the post office.
Please be aware if any of you receive an email advising you that your card is expiring, I thought the email I received advising me that my card was expiring was from a Government source but it was not, I could have ended up paying this organisation £54 for the 2 cards. I am now a bit concerned that this organisation now has my NI No, my DOB & my address - not good.
