Re: very sad news
Unless marked as being owned by the Queen or the Duke of Devonshire, all mute swans in the UK are classed as wild birds. As such, under the Wildlife and Countryside Act of 1981, killing a mute swan is liable to a fine of 5000 pounds or 6 months imprisonment.
