Mary and Jean went into Service of sorts in London whereas the younger ones worked in Reyrolles.
Mary was a Lady's maid for a well to do family in World's End and her sister Jean worked at Buckingham Palace. Sadly she's not in the records (I've looked) because she was a nannie to the Chauffeur and Cook's children.
Mary visited her there often and they travelled back and forth by ship! Jean used to bring back venison from the cook that the King had shot when she could and once she brought back some old curtains and nobody believed my nana Sally (Sarah) when she told them where they were from.
My nana and her mother were in Service in Jesmond before she married my Grandad Thomas Jackson
I certainly haven't found any Royals in my family tree but I'm very proud of them all. They had hard lives. Hope my ramblings is of interest to someone
