In the early days, it's possible that what was left of the Quarry buildings was fenced off to trespassers... it looks that way on the photograph; and, maybe that is the reason many regulars old enough remember them, can't.
I know for certain that the Pavilion and the oldest building - which stood beside it - were only slightly visible to grown-ups from outside the tall fence (at a distance), so, children passing by the perimeter, would have probably not have known that the buildings was there, unless they went inside the grounds.
The 1939 Register shows the following:
Red House Farm: Charlton family.
Vicarage. Troop family.
No. 1 Quarry House: Hunter family.
No. 2 Quarry Cottages: Fulthorpe family.
No. 3 Quarry Cottages: Whitley family.
No. 4 Quarry Cottages: Mitchell family.
