This street is arched, almost like a boomerang. It is accessed either via West Parade, on the south, or Victoria Road West (across from Newton Terrace)
, on the west.

In 1850, this was grassland, named ‘Paddock’; occupied by Matthew Laws, and leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison.
