Brilliant research as usual Barry. I remember Ropery lane very well, going to Aloysius Canteen 5 days a week. One lunch time I was hanging on that gate you mentioned, swinging it back and forth & Teacher Mr O'Hagan told me off and to report to his class after dinner. I was sick with worry all dinner break. I think he just said don't do it again
I was in his class when I was 13 and found him a real gentleman.
