Access from Prince Consort Road, via St. Aloysius View (on the north east).
This road and St. Aloysius View, surround Marina View, which is situated on land once occupied by the Bauxite Works [Produced Aluminium Hydroxide from the ore known as 'Bauxite'].
39 residential homes (Nos. 1-40) - 36 built in 2000.
In 1850, this was arable land, named ‘Middle East Howdean’, occupied by Ann Glover, and leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison. Named after:
Its closeness to the waterside: River Tyne.
