I will tell you a little story that will help with your question.
Some years ago my brother and I used to restore WW2 military vehicles which were very thirsty for petrol, some of them could hardly do more than 10 miles per gallon. We spent a great deal of time working how much it would cost to here and there to the various rallies, to point of spoiling our enjoyment. Then one day we decided that we would not do any more sums...we would just fill the tank up, pay the price, forget about it and go and ENJOY ourselves. I am sure you will see the parable here with regard to cost of running an electric blanket.
The important thing is that we need the electric blanket for our comfort. If that is so then the cost of running it needs to be put aside as long as we can afford it. In that way you will enjoy it all the more. Here endeth the lesson.
Just one thing, it might be a good idea to buy one that has an adjustable timer that will run for perhaps an hour before you go to bed. No need to run it all night otherwise you will feel too cold when you get up in the morning.
