Streets of Hebburn ~ Wood Street…

Hebburn Colliery. Was situated on the south side of School Street.
See The Old Tree Streets/The New Tree Streets.
There were two Wood Streets: 1. Built in or before 1881.
Part of the ‘The Old Tree Streets’. Demolished c.1939. 2. Built c.1943.
Part of ‘The New Tree Streets’. Demolished c.1963. First replaced by the School Street Flats (Gaitskell Court, c.1968) and recently the bungalows at School Street. Named after:
