This morning I went to Lloyd’s Bank. Three people before me. Unfortunately the lady being served had two large buckets full of charity donations. Although all the money in the packets were counted, each one had to be weight and checked, so it was a long wait. Next was an elderly man, who wanted to transfer £13,000 from his savings account to current account. As he was deaf most people could hear his request. What I thought was good, the lady dealing with him, asked if anyone had requested him to do this and could she ask was it urgent. He said it was for a knee operation, as he could not wait as he was in a lot of pain. So sad that although we have a NHS which I assume his taxes have paid for through the years, he has to pay again.
