In 4 weeks Iím getting the latest version of NHS hearing aids.
I donít know what they are able to do.
I am trialing some aids from a hearing specialist and go to them every 2 weeks for updates / adjustments.
Iím on a 2nd set which are Bluetooth enabled. Paired them with both my iPhone and iPad, grand !.
I was told the you can pair with your Smart TV which I have just bought, itís a Sony.
I am unable to get my aids and TV to pair so far and it appears that even if I could I could hear via the Bluetooth but the normal speakers would be cut off, so Ann would be cut off.
It is supposedly possible to buy a TV that you could use both the speakers and Bluetooth together. It indications are that the TV would cost over £700 and then maybe not work with hearing aids.
Sound bars will not help but I do use One.
An alternative is to plug a splitter into the headphone socket and have a set of add on speakers and a Bluetooth ďbaseĒ unit iinto the splitter. But that may not work.
In short the hard of hearing are not catered for by the TV manufactures.
If anyone has some better info please advise.
