My son Matthew is a British Gas engineer, and last year he told me about repairing a gas boiler in an old mans house in South Shields. Chatting to this lovely old man he found he'd been in Bomber Command WW2. Matthew was fascinated that this old man had flown missions over Germany.
Just today I saw this story in the Gazette and wondered if this was the same man & it is. He had even named his house 'Binbrook' after the RAF Station he flew out of.
Harold mustn't have been in the Care Home very long.
