And the messages on backstop from the EU are now becoming confusing! Rightly so. There has never really been a hard border in my lifetime except at the heart of the troubles when it was about terrorism not trade.
I continue to believe that she was dealt a rotten hand.
But I cant believe in the "deal" she put on the table.
Could it be part of the strategy to "run the clock down" to blinking point?
Finally I do believe that she will resist with all her might the effort being made to keep us in or delay the out. She may be outflanked or outvoted but at the end of it all I have a small wager with myself that she will be able to look us in the eye and say "I tried" even though at heart she wanted to remain.
Or am I just Richard Rodgers "cockeyed optomist"?
