Re: The Quay School header from 1929
I read up a little on 196 Squadron and saw that it was based at RAF Leconfield at the time Howard's Wellington aircraft was lost 3/4 July, 1943.
I was based at RAF Leconfield from 1964-1967 and must have walked in his footsteps many times. At that time I worked in the Hydraulic Bay refurbishing components for EE Lightning aircraft that came to the MU for major servicing.
