Hello Alison, I spotted that lad D. Scott but not aware that he was any relation. The surname Scott was quite common in the NE and I have bee led to believe that many people from Scotland changed there name to Scott when moving south to find work...perhaps to escape any 'tribal' issues that may have developed between other Scottish workers.
