The Medals Are home
Posted by Margaret McDonald on February 1, 2019, 10:15 am
The search to find a home for the medals of Hebburn boy James DIAMOND who died in WW1 is over. We have found a living DIAMOND who is willing to be the curator of his medals, the family bible and other artifacts one of which is a crucifix made from a bullet (or maybe three bullets). With this collection was also a medal for Jamesí younger brother Alphonsus who did come home but died quite shortly thereafter. I want to thank everyone who helped me in this task especially Vera who must have spent a great deal of time researching then sent lots of information, and Veronica who gave me a family connection which helped greatly.
