Barrie I have done a lot of rewiring properties to help out son in law. However all has to be checked and certified by a qualified person. It may have changed in the last few years though. My son in law has his own contacts for this. You now have certification requirements for sorts of things before you can sell or let a property.

These modern circuit breakers are sometimes so sensitive that they become a nightmare, we have one in the main box, if a bulb blows, it trips the main box sometimes bypassing our in-house fusebox. The type of bulb has an effect. Halogen worse than others. Don’t know about the LED type as I am just starting to use them.
