Hi Allen, A lot of the new bikes coming out now are times X1...ie, Single chainset and eleven speed cassette, this gives you a greater variety of gears without the hassle of 2 or 3 chainrings at the front and no front changer also does away with chain slap Ive built a couple of runabout bikes lately with just a single chainset and a 5/6/7/ speed cassette a lot less hassle for around the doors riding, but then Im coming up 84 next time around. PS still prefer my fixie though. regards Norman.,
