I partly agree with you Eddy, but would go one step further. A people's referendum is not a party political thing and any decision made by the people should be sacrosanct. When the majority vote was to leave it was an instruction to parliament, not just to the party in government. At that point, no MP should have been in any doubt as to what was required of them.
Every MP, no matter what their party political persuasion, is duty bound to see that the results of a peoples referendum is carried out. If they do not conform to that duty, then they really are traitors to the democratic will of the people. They are denying the validity of the 2016 referendum and thus making any future referendums pointless.
