Since nobody else has commented on it I thought I might bring up the questionable caption. Although it describes the scene as Readhead Terrace, you are actually looking at one side of Quality Row. All the references I have seen are to that title and a numbering system for it. That group of buildings were demolished in the late 1930s except one dwelling.
The next row along (off camera to the left) has been referred to by a number of names. These are Hilda Terrace, Readhead Terrace and Patrick's Place. I feel sure that the latter two are post WW2 versions and both are used in a 1959 map that I have but there is a problem with drawing accuracy.
I lived about 50yards away from this spot (1940-1956)and it was always referred to as Hilda Terrace.
