Yes Sharpe’s butchers had their own abattoir, they supplied the meat for Harrison’s Shipyard, it was always said if you went to the Bill Quay Methodist Chapel you got a slightly better cut of meat, whether that was true or not remains to be seen.
Yes Sylvia that would have been the bus to Heworth School, there was a bus terminus in Haingwood Terrace, I seem to recall the service was every 15 mins.
