Re: Ludicrous Train Ticket Pricing
Elizabeth, if you have received a good service when travelling first class you must have been very lucky, when we first moved to a Herefordshire I thought it would be a good idea to pay for my mother to travel first class from Newcastle to visit us so bought the ticket, all of the literature did say food was part of the deal etc. Anyway, my mother was travelling on a Sunday all she was given was a packet of biscuits, she got no buffet service in her seat, it was only because of the good will of a fellow traveller that my mother had a hot drink during the journey, this was in December so a hot drink was most welcome. I wrote and complained about the lack of service that had been described, I got absolutely nowhere all I was told that the rail company reserves the right to alter the service and Sunday is always different, when I was buying the ticket I was not told about this so to my mind paying for first class rail travel is a complete waste of money.
