Here in our village we have only 100 people eligible to vote. Only 50 turned out who were not required to identify themselves except by giving their name verbally. When the polling station closed the officials closed the doors, ticked off the 50 none voters as having voted, marked the unused voting papers with crosses in the box of their choice and placed them in the ballot box!
That little story is pure invention but what precautions were in place to stop it from happening? The people who didn't turn out would be unaware that papers were being marked in their name and, of course, there would have to be collusion between the two officials. All answers in pencil please.
