thank you bjc,there may be some pic,s around somewhere,we, as schoolkids used to walk in an watch the smithy shoeing horses,and he was busy all the time,a fruit and veg man called swap had a huge four wheeled cart,and two horses, they were regulars at the smithy,s,most of the local rag and bone men also,dragone,s cart with the big tub of ice cream, he went around all the back lane,s in pelaw, but horses were gradually taken over by ford 5cwt vans,butchers, bakers, dickie cann the fish man had one,and frosty with the bike shop,happy day,s eh!.
