4th June 1905. Unveiled today at Victoria Sq, Felling, a memorial (Pant)to those who served in the 2nd Boer War 1899-1902. The memorial cost £140.
8th Of June 1929 The body of Margaret Maddison of Friars Goose,was today found floating in the Tyne. She had not been seen since New Years Eve when she left to visit Bill Quay.
15th June 1962 The Grand Cinema at Pelaw went into liquidation today.
16th June 1917.Girls at the CWS Printing Works, Pelaw went on Strike today.
18th June 1915 Dr James Booth Patterson of South View, Felling was today accused of signalling to the Germanís by a Traveller called William Corbett living at Heworth . Corbett was later fined £2 7s 6d.
23rd of June 1879 Miner Banks Hodgson was killed this morning when he fell through the gap when entering the cage, and plunged to his death.
26th June 1929 a 20 yr old lady cyclist collided with a motorcar at White Mare Pool today and taken to Newcastle Infirmary where she lay unconscious with a broken skull.
30th June 1921 John Henry Spencer of 16 Laurel St and Michael Smith of 29 Chapel St , both Felling, were killed today at Wardley Colliery when 5 tons of earth on an embankment collapsed onto them.
6th June in 1859 A tea party for 200 people was today held at the Windy Nook Mechanics Insitute.
7th June 1878 William Pearson 33 & 34 High St , Felling, a Draper trading as MJ & E Pearson was today declared bankrupt.
On the 11th June 1914 the new St John Ambulance Hall in Victoria Sq, Felling was opened today in front of a crowd of 400 Voluntary Aid Detachment members who paraded in the Square.
