My late father, Davy Cram, would have been 96 this year, and remembered as a 7-year old going into George Edmunds’ shop and talking with him. Dad probably knew about the Pathé video of George's funeral - I know that if he had seen it before he died, he would have been entranced as it would have transported him back to his childhood. It’s likely that he could have pointed out characters, and given us a running commentary, too. But this video is too late for dad, and too late for us to learn more about it from him; on that note, I’d like to point out that any photographs or old film that regulars know that friends and family have lying redundant in boxes, please (I implore you) ask them to let Norman Dunn copy them: email@example.com so that we can all see them, especially the older regulars that would benefit from them most and even add names and locations, before it’s too late. Alas, if photographs come out from under beds in 20 years, there might be no-one around to recognise any faces or locations.
We’ve had regulars in the past that said they remembered George Edmunds - does anyone know any of them, or anyone else that remembers George Edmunds? Wouldn’t it be absolutely wonderful if they saw this video after all this time, and an immense bonus to us if they could add information?
