Another sad view of the shipyard waterfront taken from the river cruise we went on a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't see any sign of the dry dock so can only assume they filled it in, unless those huge blocks left of centre are the dock entrance. The owners obviously have no imagination with regard to the future use of this historic site. I have a video taken when HMS 'Cavalier' was in the dock with a view to creating a Naval Heritage Centre. I can only assume that there was not enough profit in it...what a shame.
The video, which I managed to transfer to a DVD, includes an onboard short but incomplete (camcorder battery went flat) talk by an ex crew member and I will make an attempt at downloading to the board if Norman gives me the go ahead.
