Geordie and his mate Charlie lived along Sunderland road in 'the Felling' and went for a night out down South Shields. At the end of the night they were spent up. They started to walk back to the Felling. Geordie spotted the Northern Bus Depot at the top of Mile End Road so said, “Wait here Charlie ah’ll gan and borrow a bus”. Half an hour elapsed and Charlie thought what the hell is he doing in there, then suddenly a Gateshead 18 came out the gate, with Geordie driving it. Charlie hopped on the bus and said “What took you so long?” Geordie said “Cos the Gateshead 18 was reet at the back so ah had te move the other buses oot the way!”.
And another one…..
Geordie was walking up Station Road in Hebburn when he noticed a crowd of people running round a corner very fast, He stopped one and asked why they were running. He was told that "a lion had escaped from the zoo". “Is it coming this way?” asked Geordie, "Well we are not chasing it" he was told.
