Thank goodness because a businessman and other business
friends put in place money ( £500,000) for legal action against the Gateway proposals, it was withdrawn.
We used to use Beech Grove most of the time to go into Harrogate town centre as it gave you a nice walk across the Stay from the Free parking area of Beech Grove.
While the planters were in place I rarely saw any more cyclists using it than before.
Yesterday we parked at the top end of and walked into town for the first time in some months and enjoyed the walk in spite of the wind.
We for a long time because of a foot problem and the planters, just drove into near the town centre and used the multi storey car park spending £1.30, 2.60 or £4 depending on time.
In the newspapers the other day an Ambulance called to an emergency ( probably in London area) had great difficulty in getting to where the emergency was because of Planters. The Ambulance had to park up some distance away and trundle the patient for some distance. A lot of time added to the Ambulance journeys.
