Injured seagull in my garden

I only hope none of the board members experience an hour as I have this morning, while opening my door into the garden to hang some washing out a huge seagull was standing, it was distressed as its wing was hanging down and bleeding. I closed the door as my own dog was following me out, the bird came to my patio and pecked at the glass it needed help, I rang the RSPB who advised me to contact the RSPCA after a 20 minute chat conversation I was told to speak to an agent but I was 55th in the queue, I googled "what should I do to help an injured seagull in my garden"and this number came up 07718771591it is a voluntary organisation called Pawz4Thought they were extremely helpful and said they would send someone out within the next 1/2 hr , I then received another call from them saying a volunteer from Finchale Rd Hebburn was on her way 2 ladies arrived, one of them Shirley Gardner who helps with the clearing of the litter around Hebburn and a school friend of mine , they picked up the bird very carefully as it actually bit Shirley, and took it away to be looked after , I'm happy to know it is being cared for .The whole point of my post is to pass on this local number which Shirley gave me 01915808880 and it is with her consent I do so .The summer is approaching and should anyone of you who live locally find themselves in my position this post may help.
