Cannons were in use in the late 1200s in the Ottoman empire and spread across the Middle East and North Africa It's believed that Urban, a Hungarian cannon maker sold to a number of Arabic countries and Munir Ali invented the dardanelles cannon a bronze weapon made in two parts in the mid 1400s and there's records of these being in use for over 300 years. A very successful weapon which makes me wonder if these were used at Tangier.
