My Cancer - Good News Update.

Firstly, thank you to all who have contacted me on and off the Board for their support, prayers and messages of goodwill in recent months, this really has been appreciated by wife and I. |
I have had good news regarding my Cancer of the Colon.
When I was diagnosed the Tumour (last August) it was too large and dangerous to be operated on. So I had to undergo Chemo/Radiotherapy (25 consecutive days) to shrink the Tumour.
The treatment has been so succesful that it has shrunk the Tumour to such a small size that surgery may not be necessary!
I am having a further internal examination in a few weeks and another MRI Scan and if there has been no change, I will probaly opt for having it (the Tumour) monitored on a refgular basis rather than have surgery to cut it out.
There are "downsides" to both options (my Surgeon still would prefer to cut the Tumour out) but given all the medical evidence I have been provided with by my surgeon I think my (and my Family's) prefernce is to leave the now "small tmour" as it is and have it monitored regularly.
At the moment (I hope I am not tempting fate by saying this) I feel better than I have done for some years.
Sheila and I thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.
