Mac, we had 3 doors on BEDE BURN ROAD nos. 5,7 and 9 we also had the first door round the corner in YORK STREET, then if you crossed the road on the opposite corner there was ALF GIBSONS record shop then BOUSTEADS then YORK STREET back lane then on the next block there was a house that belonged to the lady who managed Carricks corner, I think her name was Sheila Wilson and she lived with her mother, and her son John who was freindly with my brother Robert then next door to them was Hanlons where we would go for a penny bag of broken biscuits, next door to them was Carricks which is now Bousteads. |
