QUARRY ROAD: Across from Tweed Street, at Victoria Road East, it heads south east, passing Canning Street, then bends round to face north east, ending just before Sullivan Walk. |
50 residential homes - 45 flats (Nos. 1-72). Built in or before 1881. 3 built in 1906.
In 1850, the west section of Quarry Road, from Victoria Road West, to Canning Street, was woodland; the east section was Quarry Hill - both occupied by Thomas and Robert Stothard, and both leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison.
Named after: It being the road that led to the quarry.
