REDE AVENUE: Accessed via Tweed Street (on south west) and Vimy Avenue (on north east). |
26 residential homes (Nos. 1-26) - 3 built in 1910.
In 1850, this land was named ‘Squires Field’, occupied by Ann Glover, and leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison.
Named after: Rede is an archaic word meaning, among other things, "counsel" and "advice". It is cognate with Dutch "Rede" and German Rat/raten.
