Wee Robbie lived and breathed this website, and would often look in on us and keep us right, with his age-old wisdom, and knowledge of his beloved Hebburn - a place his heart always was.
Robbie had time for anybody, and folk thought the world of him. He touched so many hearts, with his candid wit, humour, vivid nostalgia and above all his great quality of decency.
And funny? Well, I often had e-mail contact with him, and he loved a good laugh... ahahah-aha! And if the messages for Robbie on this board are anything to go by (and I agree) then he was a delightful, friendly, loving gentleman, with a big heart:

This website might be in virtual reality, but the pain and loss is definitely real, though I guess if Robbie could see the heartfelt messages from his wonderful friends on this amazing board, then I'm pretty sure he would smile, and say something like,
'Hey me dears, don't get upset on accoun of me, just remember the good times. Draw comfort from the fact I enjoyed a very full life, and have no regrets. I never though for one min that the folks back home think so much for us old people like they do in HEBBURN that make me so proud of you all as there is no part of the uk that are like the GEORDIE and I have said it before I am proud to be one of them STILL. I am sitting here with tears in me eyes am a sentimenil old man. bless you, Robbie Henderson esq.'
It has been lovely to see such wonderful, heart-warming tributes to Robbie; he was one-of-a-kind; a truly affable character; his passing leaves a gap that will take some filling. Men like Robbie are rare; it was a pleasure for us to have known him - our lives will be eternally the better because of it. He had a lot to offer and we will now be less enriched and informed. We will miss his reflections on life and what he had to say on whatever subject. I can't help but feel that something great has ended.
So it is, that I/we can make no greater tribute to his memory than to know and say,
'He will never be forgotten.'
Deepest condolences to Robbie's family.
