The misery of motoring

I denigrated the X trail in a post below but thought I should come clean about my own car, a Peugeot 3008, crossover (that is half an SUV to put it simply). |
It sports a semi automatic gearbox which is slightly different to most others. To put it simply, again, it is a bit like a manual box with the stick removed, where the gears are changed automatically. Sadly, mine is giving up the ghost because the clutch is slipping. Consequently, it is now booked into a Doncaster dealership to have it fixed. The cost...
Parts are estimated at £1300 and the car has been booked in for one week at an hourly rate of £105 per hour. If I didn't already have a problem, it might have made my eyes water.
For those who are interested, The car is ex mobility, 64 reg. with only 40,000 miles on the clock when I bought it a year ago, If I had done my pre purchase homework I would have discovered that the fault is not uncommon. A great pity really because I like everything else about this car.
